A Message From
Mitch Lederman

The Internet  is a very useful medium for providing and gathering information; however, it does not take the place of one-on-one discussions and direct relationships between individuals in the business world.

For that reason, I personally invite you to call me directly regarding any staffing, job search or employment-related questions you might have or to discuss our products & services and to get to know me firsthand.

Interview Techniques

Comparison of Traditional Interviewing and Behavioral Interviewing

Traditional Interviewing

Traditional interviewing focuses on questions and assessment techniques that target specific skill sets and past performance.  Typical questions focus on job responsibilities, the role of an individual in an organization and easily described achievements.

Behavioral Interviewing

Behavioral interviewing is a technique that focuses on a prospective employees personality and value set, rather than solely on their skill sets.  Typical questions focus not only on the prospective employees responsibilities but also on their integrated performance within their organization and their leadership characteristics and traits.

Advantages of Traditional Interviewing

  • Easier to implement

  • Interviews can be one-on-one or in groups (Behavioral interviews are most effective when two or more company employees participate in the process

Advantages of Behavioral Interviewing

  • Provides a broad assessment of an individuals personality and skill set

  • Results can be easily quantified

  • Allows prospective employees to be more relaxed during the interview process

  • Hidden information more easily obtained

  • Less chance of prospective employee steering their answers to what they think the interviewer wants to hear

  • Uncovers positive and negative personality traits

  • Better indication of how an individual will fit in your organization
